About Clearly Hearing
An independent London audiology clinic founded by Dr Dayna Edwin, Au.D: specialist, unhurried hearing care for adults and children across East Dulwich, Soho and Canary Wharf.
Our story
Dr Dayna Edwin's path into audiology began at 14, when she started learning British Sign Language and was introduced to the Deaf community. By 16 she knew she wanted a career that combined science with helping people, and audiology brought together her interests in hearing, communication, healthcare and problem-solving.
After 10 years working across NHS and private audiology, she kept meeting patients who needed more time, more thorough investigation and more personalised care than standard pathways allowed. Clearly Hearing was founded to provide exactly that: an independent clinic where every patient is listened to, every concern is explored, and every recommendation is based on evidence rather than sales targets.
Meet the audiologists
Care is led by Dr Dayna Edwin, who holds a Doctor of Audiology (Au.D) from Nova Southeastern University, an MSc in Human Communication Sciences from University College London and a BSc (Hons) in Audiology from the University of Bristol, with over 15 years of clinical experience. She is HCPC-registered (HAD03221) and holds British Sign Language Level 2.
Every audiologist at Clearly Hearing has a minimum of 8 years of post-qualification clinical experience, with postgraduate qualifications at MSc or doctorate level. We do not rely on newly qualified clinicians or students to deliver patient care, and you see one clinician throughout your care.
Private insurance & funding
We are registered providers for major private medical insurers including Bupa, AXA, Aviva, WPA, Vitality and Healix, and insurance-funded hearing assessments can usually be billed to your insurer directly. Please check whether your policy needs a GP or specialist referral before booking.
Self-pay patients are equally welcome: comprehensive hearing assessments start from £120 for adults and £90 for children, and we provide detailed invoices, reports and onward referrals wherever they are needed.
Why choose an independent clinic
Clearly Hearing is not tied to any hearing aid manufacturer or sales target. That independence means we can recommend the most appropriate technology for your hearing, lifestyle and budget from across every major manufacturer, or tell you honestly that you do not need hearing aids at all.
It also means longer appointments, comprehensive diagnostics that go beyond standard pure tone audiometry, hearing aid fittings verified with Real Ear Measurements, and follow-up care that continues long after your first visit. Our focus is clinical outcomes, not retail sales.
Who we help
Our adult patients are often professionals, business owners, creatives, performers and retirees who want to protect their hearing, communication and quality of life. Many notice the signs at work first: meetings becoming harder to follow, calls more tiring, conversation in noise more effortful.
We also see many families: proactive parents concerned about a child's hearing, listening, speech and language development or progress at school, including complex paediatric conditions such as glue ear and auditory processing disorder (APD). And we particularly welcome patients with harder questions, from tinnitus and hyperacusis to balance problems, who have been searching for answers for some time.
