Dizziness has many causes, and not all are vestibular. By combining a full history with comprehensive hearing testing and balance-specific tests, we establish whether your symptoms are likely coming from the inner ear, which is the first step towards the right treatment.

BPPV, vestibular neuritis and Meniere's disease each have distinct patterns. Recognising which fits your history and test results is what points to the appropriate management, whether that is a repositioning manoeuvre, rehabilitation or onward referral.

Because the balance organs share the inner ear with the cochlea, the pattern of any hearing change is highly informative. Fluctuating hearing loss with vertigo and ear fullness, for example, points towards Meniere's disease and shapes the referral we make.
