A range of modern hearing aids during an independent selection consultation at Clearly Hearing in London

The short answer

What this treatment is

Hearing aids are small amplification devices programmed to your exact prescription. As an independent clinic we select from ReSound, Starkey, Phonak, Unitron, Rexton, Signia and Oticon, then verify every fitting with Real Ear Measurement, the gold standard check that your aids deliver what your hearing actually needs. Our focus is clinical outcomes, not retail sales.
A comprehensive hearing assessment under way at Clearly Hearing

At your first appointment we take the time to find out what is really going on.

Appointments are longer here by design. Your audiologist takes a full history, examines your ears, and runs the tests your situation actually calls for, going beyond standard pure tone audiometry where needed.

Results are explained clearly on the day, and you leave with a personalised plan: whether that is treatment, monitoring, a referral, or the reassurance that your hearing is normal.

Well fitted hearing aids can help to:

Bring conversation back within reach

The most common frustration we hear is following speech, particularly in background noise. Aids programmed to your prescription and verified with Real Ear Measurement restore access to conversation in the situations where you actually live and work.

Reduce the effort of listening

Untreated hearing loss makes listening hard work: many people describe feeling drained after conversation. When speech no longer has to be pieced together, that listening effort eases.

Support tinnitus management

Tinnitus and hearing loss frequently occur together. Where they do, well fitted hearing aids can form part of a wider tinnitus management plan, alongside the honest guidance that there is no tinnitus cure, only good management.

Keep you confident at work and in company

Meetings, phone calls, restaurants and family gatherings are where hearing loss bites hardest. We match technology to the listening situations that matter most to you, then fine-tune it around your feedback during the two-week trial.

Stay supported for the long term

Hearing changes over time, and so should your aids. Structured aftercare, reprogramming, servicing and repairs keep your devices working as your hearing and life change, whether you bought them from us or elsewhere.

What can be treated?

Hearing aids are recommended where hearing loss affects communication, and can form part of tinnitus management when hearing loss and tinnitus occur together.

Once again I am truly grateful for Dayna's expertise. Again, £75.00 well spent. Dayna is still the calm, friendly, kind and skilled professional she was when I last saw her. I am always apprehensive about the process of ear microsuction but I needn't have been. The procedure was comfortable and pain free. The results are great.

The audiologist who treated me was absolutely top drawer. Her name was Dayna and she gave me an appointment the same day and removed a considerable amount of wax from both of my ears using microsuction.

FAQs

Why does an independent clinic matter when choosing hearing aids?

Many providers dispense a single manufacturer's range, so every patient leaves with a version of the same product. We select across ReSound, Starkey, Phonak, Unitron, Rexton, Signia and Oticon, matching technology to your hearing, lifestyle and budget. There are no targets behind the advice: our focus is clinical outcomes, not retail sales.

What is Real Ear Measurement and why does it matter?

Real Ear Measurement places a thin probe microphone in your ear canal while your hearing aid is working, measuring the sound actually reaching your eardrum. It is the gold standard for verifying a fitting, and it is not offered everywhere. We verify every fitting this way, so your prescription is delivered, not assumed.

What is included in the price?

Every price is per pair and includes your diagnostic assessment, independent selection across seven manufacturers, fitting, Real Ear Measurement verification, fine-tuning, a manufacturer warranty and structured aftercare. Fees are published and explained before you book, and we provide the reports and invoices your private medical insurer needs for a claim.

Can I try hearing aids before committing?

Yes. Your fitting includes a two-week trial, so you can wear the hearing aids in the situations that matter: home, work, restaurants and company. We fine-tune the settings around your feedback during that period, and we will say honestly if a different device would suit your hearing better.

Will hearing aids give me back normal hearing?

No, and it is important to be honest about that. Hearing aids do not restore natural hearing. What well fitted, properly verified devices do is restore access to speech, conversation and the sounds that matter, supporting communication, confidence and quality of life. That is why verification with Real Ear Measurement matters so much.

I bought my hearing aids elsewhere. Can you still help?

Yes. Our repairs and aftercare service supports Phonak, Unitron, Widex, Oticon, Starkey, GN ReSound, Signia and Bernafon, and we welcome devices bought from Boots, Specsavers, Scrivens, Hidden Hearing or Amplifon. We can service, repair and reprogram them, and supply a temporary replacement aid while yours is repaired.
